Windows 10 Nintendo Switch Pro Controller Driver Error

I'm trying to play certain games with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (Witcher 3 in specific) but it is telling me that it has a driver error in the windows 'Bluetooth and other devices' section of the settings. I'm not trying to pair with Bluetooth since my desktop doesn't have it, so I'm attempting to connect with a wire (hopefully that's relevant somehow). I tried using third party software such as x360 (or whatever it's called) but nothing is currently working. Could someone help me possibly figure out what's happening? The controller works just fine on the Switch itself (zero problems).

Brand new usb, it says just plug in and Windows would assign a driver automatically. It didn't, any. Skip to main content. Unable to use Game Controllers on Windows 10 *Original Title: Game controllers. If your controller has a switch for Dinput and Xinput you may still need to install the.

Edit: no longer says 'driver error' for some reason, but its not working nonetheless
