Asus, a good company, has two pieces of software that are supposed to benefit games, but can cause problems with those games, like Skyrim and Fallout. Not sure if they have the same problem with ESO< but its worth disabling them to see if performance is better. One is GamerOSD (allows screen resolution changes while playing the game) and Xonar (which enhances surround sound, something ESO surely does not need) See if the game runs better if those are not running.
Also, there is a ton of preinstalled programs, McAfee being one of them. Perhaps that firewall is blocking the program. As always it is best to run a Laptop for gaming under a strict clean boot to stop all the shovel ware from taking up CPU cycles

Mar 27, 2018 - So I downloaded and installed the client without problems, I load the client up, select the EU region and hit the update button. I log in and it. So, I'm downlaoding the game.And I'm getting between 100 and 500kb/s.14 to 80 hours to download.Does anyone know why this download. As of right now my patch download for the CBT is very slow. It's been a good 2 hours now, and I've just hit 7%. I'm not sure if its just a problem on my end, or if this is a common occurrence at the moment.
If anyone comes up with the IP let me know. I'm now seeing my client lose connection gradually and then stop downloading altogether with the error 'WebGet request failed.' It ticks down from approximately 30 kb/s to 0.0 in about ten seconds and then throws that error. If i knew where to run the tracert to I could see where my connection is being broken.
I did read where you checked the firewall and rebooted etc...
