Looking for the ethernet controller for a Toshiba Satellite L755-S5153. The computer does not recognize direct ethernet connection, only connecting wirelessly. Unfortunately, wireless connection is not an option for me at the moment, so I need to figure out how to fix my Ethernet controller. Upon looking at the Device Manager, I get one listing under 'Other Devices' labeled Ethernet Controller. It is listed as
'Device Type: Other Devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI Bus 3, Device 0, Function 0'
The device status is as follows
'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.'
Updating the driver manually yields no results, as without a working Ethernet controller, I have no way to access the internet for the system to find the driver. Not sure what else matters but the system is running on Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 on a 64 bit system.
Thank you in advance for any information you may be able to provide, this is rather a pain for me to deal with, since the only other computer that I have access to with working internet is rather old, and does not run very well any more.
